My Pick:

My current camera is the Sony Alpha 3000, which I purchased at the National Camera Exchange. I would highly recommend it! Great for beginners, the camera's basic features and help tutorials (which you can see at the click of a button) make it easy for even the least tech savvy. Once you get the hang of using the different settings, you can take some really great pics without breaking the bank.

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Hi friends! :)

I'm in the middle of my minimalist cleaning challenge, and I have been really struggling with what books to get rid of. So, expect a post in the next week after I finally bring myself to part with my beloved novels. :)

Moving on from that, you know the feeling you get when you wake up one morning, and this is what you see outside your bedroom window?

Everything is starting to get really intensely green for spring, and the sun is just starting to peek out from the hills.

Yeah. It just makes you want to grab your camera, run outside in your pajamas, and take pictures while you should be getting ready to catch the bus.

So that is exactly what I did.

I took pictures as the sun rose. And let me tell you, the sun rises FAST. I took these three pictures all in a span of 2-3 minutes and there is a HUGE difference in the amount of light when comparing them. See for yourself:

The first 2 look pretty much the same, but then when I took the last one, WOW.

For just a few moments, it felt like everything was basked in a magical glow. But soon it was gone. It reminds me of Robert Frost's poem:

Nature's first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold,

Her early leaf's a flower,

But only so an hour,

Then leaf subsides to leaf,

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day,

Nothing gold can stay

Lots of love,

Kat
