My Pick:

My current camera is the Sony Alpha 3000, which I purchased at the National Camera Exchange. I would highly recommend it! Great for beginners, the camera's basic features and help tutorials (which you can see at the click of a button) make it easy for even the least tech savvy. Once you get the hang of using the different settings, you can take some really great pics without breaking the bank.

Minimalist Spring Cleaning Challenge - Day 4 - Jewelry

I think my minimalist efforts have started to seriously pay off!

My stuff is getting seriously organized right now.

But you know what else? I think the minimalist bug is catching.

My family (really just the women of the household) is starting to show some interest.

And you know what? I haven't tried to push my ideas on them at all. It is extremely difficult to live in a house where everyone has that maximalist/consumer attitude. Not that there is anything wrong with that, to each his own, it's just hard for me. When you see so many things going to waste and then having four other people bring in so many new items constantly, you just want to intervene. That would not be right though, so I keep my mouth shut and deal with it, and mostly because I am not the best example of perfection myself. I still have a lot of stuff, but the fact that I keep getting rid of it is starting to gain the interest of others. And that makes me excited.

Everybody should get on the minimalist train! Toot! Toot!

Which brings me to my next spring cleaning post!

Time for something everybody has trouble getting rid of: jewelry

I have a lot of it:

I even found a bunch of stuff that isn't jewelry stashed in my jewelry box.

I love this box! The little drawers and labels are perfect for staying organized, and I like how it takes full advantage of vertical space so you have more room on your dresser.

Btw, I tried one of those jewelry tree things, but it was not for me.

*starts rant*

Maybe some people like it, but I have never owned a jewelry organizer that falls down so many times! I didn't even have many necklaces on it, but it would topple over everyday and all my jewelry would fall to the ground, getting all tangled together. It also was really hard to organize my stuff, like I said before, was always getting tangled, either from falling to the ground, or twisting together from the hanging "branches." So yeah, just gonna stick to the traditional box format for storage.

*end rant*

For some of my bracelets, I like to use this little box:

SMLXL

I put my watch, my mood bracelet, and a stone bracelet in it.

I suggest getting rid of items that are:

-broken

-unused

-rings that make your skin turn green

-out of style/don't look good on you

-you don't like

Want to see all the stuff I'm getting rid of? You know you want to,

That's A LOT of jewelry! My storage was crammed, and now it is refreshingly sparse.

Lots of Love,

Kat
