My Pick:

My current camera is the Sony Alpha 3000, which I purchased at the National Camera Exchange. I would highly recommend it! Great for beginners, the camera's basic features and help tutorials (which you can see at the click of a button) make it easy for even the least tech savvy. Once you get the hang of using the different settings, you can take some really great pics without breaking the bank.

25 Days of Blogmas: Day 5 - Midterms -- and Mittens!

Ok, somebody needs to come over to my house ASAP and clean my room, make all my lunches, do my laundry, organize everything I own, write my christmas cards, wrap my gifts, do my homework, and study for my midterms. 'Cuz right now I clearly am not capable of doing any of it well, much less doing it at all. It has been CRAZY lately. That's why you haven't seen much of me over the past week- or has it been 2? I don't know. I could explain Einstien's theory of relativity, factor a binomial with radicals in the formula, conjugate spanish verbs, recite the preamble of the Constituion, and maybe even write up a classification essay for you on the spot, but I couldn't tell you what day it is to save my life. That's how bad it has gotten. The last two weeks have been finals weeks and my life has been relvolving around music and math 24/7.

But hey, on the bright side, I did end up getting A's on my finals, and my coffee mug is AWESOME:

Two weeks of torture has been all worth it for me though, since now I have a month to sit back and relax. My favorite way to lay low is to crochet and so I present to you a new mitten pattern. Technically, it's from this website, but I modified it a little to make it fit my hands perfectly.

Feel free to check out the original pattern, which has 2 different sizes. I used the size 1 pattern but switched to a 6.00 mm hook and added 5 extra rows before the thumb, increased my stitch count at row 8, and widened the thumbhole by 2 stitches. I also added an extra row after the thumb and decreased less before the cuff. Did you get all that?

I basically just kept putting the mitten on my hand as I went, and would decide if I wanted to add more stitches or rows to fit my hand better. I didn't make it much wider, but I definitely made it longer.

I watched Mariah Carey last night on her Christmas Special while I crocheted by the fire with this super fluffy blanket. I almost fell asleep from the relaxing ambiance.

Voila!

So comfy. So cute.

Lots of love,

Kat
