The Autumn Column: Pumpkin Spice Hand and Body Sugar Scrub (Pumpkin Series Day 2)
On day 1 of my Autumn Column (Pumpkin Series), I talked about some of my favorite pumpkin things. One of those things was a copycat pumpkin spice frappuccino (yum-o) and I decided I wanted to make another post dedicated to making a delicious smelling pumpkin spice sugar scrub. This is relatively cheap and sooooo easy to make. You probably already have most of the ingredients in your cabinet.
So, let's get started!
First, here is what you will need:
(Please keep in mind that you can totally switch out ingredients or amounts to fit your needs. A scrub needs to have an exfoliant and oil, and the rest are just add-ins of your choice.)
-4-6 oz container
-3 tbsp coconut oil
-1/2 c granulated sugar
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-a dash of cinnamon
-2 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
(not pictured):
-medium bowl
-microwave or other heat source
-spoon
-whisk
-small heat safe bowl
The first step is to measure out your sugar and put it in a bowl:
If there are any lumps or bumps, just take a whisk and smoosh them.
Next, you can put the coconut oil in a small heat safe bowl and microwave for 20 seconds:
It should be a thick, lumpy liquid.
Now add the oil and the rest of the ingredients to the sugar:
Mix it up:
Put the contents in a container:
And you're done!
This is the perfect hostess gift. Or, you could use this as a special addition to your at-home spa day.
I wish you could smell these pictures.
The aroma is wafting through the air and it is heavenly.
Stay tuned for more posts stuffed to the gills with pumpkiny goodness!
Lots of Love,
Kat
